They had a reason to build this place
And the old steel mill on the top of the hill
Don't see much work these days
When I turned 17
I couldn't wait to leave
Got a friend who's still here he works at the pier
Says it ain't what it used to be
But I don't remember this town
I don't remember this town
Where the hell was I when it all came down?
I don't remember this town
And the lights on the liquor store
I don't know what they need them for
And the bar where I came it still looks the same
But it costs a few dollars more
Funny how it seems to me
That the sun don't shine on these streets
And the river erodes the rust from these roads
That once carried me
But I don't remember this town
I don't remember this town
Where the hell was I when it all came down?
I don't remember this town
I don't remember this town
Some kid just like me
Trying to grow something in these weeds
And if nothing grows by the time I get old
It might be where they bury me
But I don't remember this town
I don't remember this town
Where the hell was I when it all came down?
I don't remember this town
Where'd everybody go now?
Ain't nothing but a hole in the ground
Where the hell where you when the rain came through?
I don't remember this town
I don't remember this town
I don't remember this town

I'm slightly sad I didn't start listening to boygenius until but happy to be a fan of their music <3 lissie_a

It’s hard to accurately describe how much I love this album. Hearing how the songs came together in studio, after hearing them on the pandemic livestreams, is a true joy. Glen’s writing and singing are unrivaled, this whole collection is amazing. Thank you, Glen, for your beautiful music, for continuing to tour, and for just being a stellar human. sherig60
